Border Security Force thwarted an evil design of Pakistani smugglers to push 13 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin from the area of responsibility of 29bn of the BSF in Ferozepur sector.A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier’s BSF Headquarter here on Friday said the alert troops of the BSF observed suspicious activities of some mischievous person ahead of the border security fence and challenged them following which they fled towards the Pakistan Territory.
During a search of the area conducted on Friday, the troops recovered seven packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 6.7kg and a pistol whereas only a day back, the troops seized six packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 1.2kg from the same area.
Value of the heroin is said to be Rs 40 crore in the international market, officials told UNI.The BSF has seized a total of 477.953kg of heroin from the Punjab border during the current calendar year till date.
