Proving wrong the excuses of previous governments of NC, PDP and Congress about hardships and bottlenecks stopping the development process in the J&K UT, the Bharatiya Janata Party has changed the entire spectrum by raising the basic infrastructure and ensuring public services in both urban and rural segments with no discrepancy or discrimination. This was stated by senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta while interacting with locals and party workers here at Suchetgarh and R S Pura hamlets. He visited the border belt in connection with party’s campaign for DDC polls. To the utter dismay of opposition parties which never missed a chance to criticize BJP at every platform, the locals extended exemplary warmth and vowed for wholehearted support to party in DDC as well as other elections in coming future as they were quite impressed by the works done by the BJP government post 2014 especially with regard to public utilities including power, water, roads and other civil works. The people also lauded BJP leadership for changing the common perspective over nationalism and nation building.Overwhelmed by the quantum of support which the people assured to BJP, Kavinder promised to redouble efforts in making available all the benefits of schemes sponsored by Center as well as UT dispensation to the people in the area without any discrimination of colour, caste, creed or party affiliation. He said that people now have realized that in the past over 70 years they were continuously being cheated by the parties in power. “They were deceived by all including NC, PDP and Congress with common purpose of satiating vested interests and indulging in ‘Loot-Khasoot’ to usurp public funds”, he added.Citing the significant improvement in Satwari-R S Pura road stretch which was lingering during successive regimes of opposition parties, he said that real intention of any government can only be adjudged by its works and not by oratory. “The BJP has done tremendous work as far as public infra, mitigation of border people’s problems, promoting border tourism, power, water, lanes and drains, facilities to aged, destitute women and infirm and other people friendly initiatives are concerned,” he said, adding that a vote to BJP is a vote to development otherwise it is sheer waste of resources as other parties have ‘covert’ agendas having no concern with public welfare. The former Deputy Chief Minister accused successive governments’ of doing development for namesake which never crossed the borders of twin capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar. “It is only the BJP which has the guts to spend public funds for the welfare of people whether they are based in cities or the far off hamlets deep inside hinterland. He appealed to the people to exercise their franchise judiciously and do not fall prey to ‘bait of lies’ being planted by the opposition to woo them and later leave them lurching for want of basic amenities.
