Budgam Police arrests 03 drug peddlers; Contraband substance recovered

February 02: “`Continuing its efforts to eradicate menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

Officers from Police Station Budgam on a checkpoint established at New Buss Adda Budgam intercepted a vehicle Wagnor R bearing registration No. DL5CN-1322 with three persons on board. They have been identified as Arshid Ahmed Dar resident of Farishigund Dharmuna, Reyaz Hussain Mir resident of Main Budgam and Sajad Ahmed Bhat resident of Narkara Budgam. During checking, officers were able to recover 1.90 grams of heroin, 110 grams of Charas and 264 capsules of Sposmo-proxovan from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.21/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been taken up.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
