India surpasses US to become fastest Covid-19 vaccinating country, says Centre

The Union ministry of health and family welfare said on Wednesday that India surpassed the United States to become the fastest vaccinating country in the world. The ministry said that with an average daily rate of 3,093,861 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine doses, the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 8.70 crores on Wednesday. More than 33 lakh vaccination doses were administered in the period between Tuesday and Wednesday morning, the ministry informed.
