Disaster Preparedness training for media personnel held at Ganderbal Joint venture of Disaster Management, Media Guild, SDRF received overwhelming response

Ganderbal, July 14: A much needed disaster preparedness training programme was held by the Department of Disaster Management Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction J&K, in collaboration with Ganderbal Media Guild and J&K State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) at Town Hall Ganderbal.The training programme was kick started by Er. Aamir Ali, Director Disaster Mana

gement J&K and Nodal Officer State Emergency Operation Centre. The programme saw an overwhelming response from the participants, who included media persons mainly members of Ganderbal Media Guild (GMG), social activists and other volunteers.Deputy Superintendent of Police, HQ Dr. Abdul Maajid (JKPS) attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Besides, District Information Officer (DIO) Ganderbal, Aafaq Ahmad; Dy SP CID Faheem Ali; Dy SP SDRF Bashir Ahmad; Mohammed Suhail Wani and Bilquees Dar, both Consultants of Disaster Management and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.In the training, participants were able to learn first aid, search & rescue and fire fighting. The training was impacted by Aijaz Ahmed and Mohamned Hussain from SDRF.At the end, President GMG Shah Aijaz extended his cordial gratitude to the Director Disaster Management, SDRF, Police Department, Health Services, Municipal Council and all other departments and organisations for the necessary support and assistance.All the participants were awarded with participation certificates.
