Srinagar , July 19: After the hottest day of the season on Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir received a moderate rainfall on Monday, which gave some relief to the people from the scorching heat.Earlier on Sunday, the maximum temperature in Srinagar and Jammu was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius respectively.According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir has been pleasant since early this morning as moderate to low rainfall has been recorded in both the regions of UT and the department has predicted more rains for next two days.“Moderate to heavy rains are expected for two more days” MeT sources said.The Meteorological Department has advised people living at high altitudes to be careful while tourists and trekkers have been advised to avoid camps on mountains or riversides as the continuous rains can cause flash floods and also landslides at vulnerable spots.Earlier the department had cautioned the Divisional Commissioners from both the provinces of Jammu and Kashmir of moderate to heavy rainfall that there is a high probability of rains till July 21 and flash floods were also predicted in the correspondence.
