    The Union Minister for Education and Skill Development, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the Principals’ Conference of the 82nd Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) organized by Doon School today (January 10, 2022). Speaking on the occasion, Shri Pradhan said that the National Policy on Education (2020) focuses on equitable and inclusive education with special focus on socially and economically disadvantaged sections. He said that an inclusive classroom benefits all from myriad experiences and perspectives as well as understanding the various challenges facing the country. The Minister urged all the schools participating in the conference to show how inclusive our pioneering schools are and what more can be done to ensure that every child in the country gets the best of education. The Minister said that a knowledgeable person builds a good, just and progressive society. The urge to learn, apply and pursue that knowledge has propelled humanity from the pursuit of fire to farming, from flying in the skies to moving among the stars. He stressed that it is the duty of each and every one of us to do the best we can to give our children the fundamental right to education, guide them to utilize their full potential and thus make our country and the world better. The Minister was happy to note that the number of IPSC which started with a few residential schools in 1939 has now increased to 81 including Sainik and Military Schools. The annual meeting of principals and headmasters of more than 80 major schools of India assumes significant importance to influence the coming generation. Shri Pradhan exuded confidence that the conference was fruitful, where everyone has learned something new to do, show and implement in their respective schools, so that they become curious, learned and knowledgeable for the society and the nation.
