ICPS repatriates 3 Non local children to their native state

    Kulgam, 24-Jan: The Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) department safely repatriated three children to west Bengal. The children were forcibly brought to Kashmir by a lady.On 15 01 2022 SHO Qazigund received an information that a non local lady forcibly brought three minor Children from West Bengal to Kashmir for work.SHO Qazigund swung into action and the lady was arrested and the children (name with held) were rescued.A case was registered under FIR No.09/2022, under section 363,367 IPC in police station Qazigund. Immediately as per the mandate of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 the children were produced before ICPS kulgam for their care and protection. The concerned department shifted the Children to Child care institution for temporary placement. The Child welfare committee started the inquiry and it was found that the children belong to West Bengal came in search of employment without informing their own parents. The CWC kulgam requested DCPO Alipurduar West Bengal to furnish Social Investigation Report on priority basis. On 19/01/2022 DCPO Alipurduar West Bengal submitted report and it reveals that the children are permanent residents of West Bengal and need to be repatriated to their families. For the best interests of children Mission Director ICPS Ms. Shabnam Shah Kamli (JKAS) and District Child Protection Officer kulgam Sanobar Altaf (JKAS) took keen interest for shifting of children within short period of time to their families by Air.The trio were accompanied by Child Protection Officer IC and Child Protection Officer NIC.The concerned Officers produced the Children before chairperson Child Welfare Committee jalpaiguri (Additional charge Alipurduar) West Bengal.dated 22/01/22. The concerned Chairperson placed the children at Korok Child Care Institution for rehabilitation and further care and protection.The Chairperson of the concerned District expressed gratitude to the department of ICPS Jammu and Kashmir for timely action with regards shifting of minor children to their native District /stateÛ”(CNS)
