Sanjay Saraf demands setting up of to probe innocent killings

    Srinagar,23-Apr: Demanding ‘White Paper’ on Displacement of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley, National General Secretary of Rashtriya Lok Jan Shakti Party Sanjay Saraf demanded the setting up of a commission to find out the motives behind the killings of innocent Pandits, Sikhs and Muslims. Addressing a press conference at his residence in Srinagar, Saraf congratulated the people of the valley on the occasion of the month of Ramadan and said that this month teaches sacrifice, patience and generosity. He said that the conditions faced by Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley in 1990 led to forced migration from their homeland to live in Jammu and other parts of India wereWoeful.“Saraf also stressed on the point that Government of India and the Lieutenant Governor should issue a ‘White Paper’ on this issue to provide justice”. Saraf saidHe added that the rulers of that time should be prosecuted and they should be brought before the people’s court as to why they failed to stop these killings and displacement. Saraf advised the rulers of that time that they should collectively apologize to Pandits, Muslims and Sikhs and repent of their sins. He said 3.5/4 lakh kashmiri pandits all over world have been demanding justice and punishment for those involved in this heinous crime. Describing the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits as a humanitarian issue, Saraf said that it is important to understand the plight of Kashmiri Pandits and how they, along with their young children and elders, had to endure hardships in other regions far from their homeland. Saraf said that the Pandits have not only faced hardships and sufferings, but the pain they have endured every day cannot be described in words“There is no need for politics in this matter but it is a burning ember which Kashmiri Pandits always feel in their heart and chest” He said.He lamented that the employees posted under the Prime Minister’s packages have been deprived of adequate accommodation in the valley. He said that more than 300 Govt. employees have been aloted hotel room and there is no space as two employees are in a room sharing system while as rent is deducted out of their salary on the basis of two bedroom accommodation in the name of house rent allowance. Saraf said that as a result of this process, these employees are unable to keep their families with them. He demanded that needful urgent steps be taken to provide adequate housing facilities to these employees because of threat perception thus ensuring their safety.Welcoming the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jammu and Kashmir as a good omen, the RLJP leader said that people have faith and trust that Prime Minister’s visit will prove fruitful and more avenues would be paved for progress and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
