BARAMULLA, Apr 26 : Making a scathing attack on Congress party, Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh today accused the it of distorting Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) image for vote bank politics. The Union Minister, who was on two -days tour of Baramulla district in Kashmir valley to review the aspirational districts parameters in an informal chat with the reporters said Congress for its vote bank politics misled the people especially minorities in the country by creating a wrong and false perception about BJP. “The party (Congress) made a false propaganda among the people that if BJP was voted to power in the country it will change the eating habits of the people though it was far from truth. This was done just to remain in power and seek minorities vote by the party,” he added.Dr Jitendra Singh said that after BJP came to power the people realised the facts and our Government made ease of living for the people and “we proved Congress totally wrong. The people were misled by Congress and some opposition parties for their vested interests decades together that BJP after coming to power will also impose its dogma but now the people have realised the facts.”He said this wrong perception was mostly created among the minorities in North East and Jammu and Kashmir. But people in North East have realised that minorities in India are totally safe under BJP rule and this has also been now realised in Kashmir valley, he added. He said it was the Government led by Narendra Modi which tied entire nation in one string to provide justice to all irrespective of their religion, region and make nation strong. “We stand for justice to all and appeasement to none”, he asserted and asked people not to fall in the false and misleading propaganda of Congress and other opposition parties.Dr Jitendra Singh said that in North East people realised this and they accepted BJP as political party that resulted in drastic change in development of the region. The Union Minister said that ‘Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas’ is the slogan of Modi Government and while giving benefits of welfare schemes and development projects launched by the BJP Government no discrimination was done on the basis of religion, region or caste.Meanwhile, in a dramatic turn of events, the BJP today gained absolute majority in the Baramulla Municipal Council following Union Minister and senior Central BJP leader, Dr Jitendra Singh’s visit. After the formal joining into BJP by seven Municipal Councilors belonging to other parties, the BJP is now in a position to elect its own president in a house of 19 members. The formal induction of these Councilors into the BJP fold took place soon after Dr Jitendra Singh concluded his detailed meeting with senior party leaders and district Sangathan Mantri in which he recalled the old times of BJP’s struggle in the Valley and also recalled an incident in 2011 when one of the woman members of the party was subjected to inhuman torture for carrying the party flag. He recalled how thereafter she had to be shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment.Dr Jitendra Singh said, BJP has seen testing times in Kashmir, but the consistent commitment of its hardcore workers over the years has succeeded in finally convincing the masses that BJP stands for equal participation and justice for all sections of society and all religions.
