JAMMU, Mar 24: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today declared that the administration is ready to hold Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir whenever the Election Commission of India (ECI) takes a call even as he charged the neighbouring country (Pakistan) with trying to give message that J&K isn’t peaceful ahead of G20 meeting in Srinagar in May.In an interview to Doordarshan, Sinha while responding to a question on conduct of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir referred to the statement of Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) and Home Minister (Amit Shah) which he made in Parliament.“Delimitation Commission has completed its task. Updated electoral lists have been published. There are Constitutional bodies in the country for certain tasks . It is the Election Commission which has to take decision on Assembly elections in J&K. Whenever the Commission decides, the administration is ready to hold elections,” the Lieutenant Governor said.Replying to a question on targeted killings, he said the neighbouring country (a reference towards Pakistan) is frustrated over India holding G20 Summit, whose meeting will be held in Srinagar in May.
