Health awareness program held near LoC at GHS Balkote Uri

Srinagar,29-Apr : A health awareness program was held at Government High School (GHS) Balkote, Uri near the Line of Control (LoC). The program, organized by two Kashmir-based NGOs – Saaya and Uri Foundation, had the theme of ‘Healthy lifestyle.’ The aim of the program, according to a statement by the organizers, was to educate children in this remote area about health and hygiene. The program began with a speech by Zahid Fayaz, a health educator at SDH Uri, who impressed upon the better way to wash hands and how to stay clean. Advocate Toseal Ahmad said that there was a dire need to maintain good hygiene in the present time. He further informed the students that one can also take legal help in this regard. Haseeb, a student of the school delivered a speech on the healthy lifestyle. Abrar Ahmad, a faculty of the school appealed to the students to follow all the safety measures so as to stay safe from various germs and bacteria which can prove deadly sometime.
