Div Com reviews progress on Jammu Smart City Project

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of works under Jammu Smart City Project.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Sushma Chauhan; Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti, Sanjeev Chadda; Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), Des Raj; Chief Engineer JPDCL, Gurmeet Singh, besides other concerned officers and representatives of Project Management Consultancy (PMC).

The meeting deliberated on various components of smart city project including road improvement from Dogra Chowk to KC Chowk, Multi Level Car Parking at Panjbakhtar temple, Junction improvement Phase 1, ongoing and upcoming Smart City projects, vertical garden from KC to Dogra Chowk and other components.

A detailed powerpoint presentation was given on the works which have been taken up and completed so far and  future work plan of the project.

The Div Com also discussed other important issues like Request for Proposal (RFP), Detail Projects Reports (DPR), Tender allocations. He directed the concerned officers to clearly define all terms and norms of the projects in the tenders.

The Div Com directed concerned officers to keep ambit of project for longer horizon and complete works in a time bound manner so that tangible results are achieved on the ground. He also asked the concerned departments to work in unison with more zeal and dedication for completion of Smart City Project to make Jammu a model city.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner chaired another meeting to review progress on land acquisition cases of Border Road Organisation/ Sampark.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer, Sampark, Assistant Commissioner Central, Jitender Mishra; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu, Vijay Sharma and other concerned officers while Deputy Commissioners of Reasi, Poonch and Rajouri attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Chief Engineer Sampark apprised the Div Com of pending land acquisition cases in Reasi, Poonch and Rajouri districts. Threadbare discussions were held on each case and the DCs informed about the present status of acquisition cases, besides also informed about compensation status.

The Div Com asked the DCs to resolve all the pending land acquisition cases pertaining to BRO in their respective districts for early completion of Sampark projects.
