Pulwama, 05-Jan; Three Jaish-e-Mohammad militants, including a Pakistani national, were killed in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday,police said.A police official said that a gunfight broke out in Chandgam area of the district after the police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation there.Inspector General of Police, Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar said the slain men belong to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and included a Pakistani national.”Incriminating material, and arms and ammunition, including two M-4 carbines and one AK series rifle, were recovered,” he said, adding that it was a “big success for us”.“The encounter started in the wee hours after a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(CNS)
