Pattan,24-Feb; A 3-year-old boy was injured after he was attacked by stray dogs at KP Payeen Hanjiwera Singhpora Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.Locals told that stray dogs pounced upon Hadi Ali son of Shabir Ahmed Wailoo resident of KP Payeen Hanjiwera resulting in critical injuries to the boy. People whil protesting against Baramulla administration and SMC alleged that nothing has been done for the safety of people in the area after the last attack in which a 16 year old was mauled to death by these dogs.“We have many times seen municipal vehicles on regular basis dropping dogs around Jeel Bridge area which creates nuisance for the local residents”,locals alleged.Soon after the protest, Tehsildar Singhpora Saqib Murtaza along with Pattan & Mirgund police reached to the spot and assured the protesters that he will himself monitor the issue.“Any vehicle/person caught doing such activity will be seized on-spot and will be dealt as per law”’, Tehsildar assured.Pertinently,While taking note of the incident and media coverage by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla had directed Animal Husbandry Department Baramulla to take necessary Steps with regard to Control the Population of dogs and to get rid from Stray Dogs. However, District Animal Husbandry Officer Baramulla ,Dr Balbir told that this department has no Budget to tackle with these dogs.(CNS)
