Kulgam, 28-Feb;Doctors who saved millions of lives during COVID times are considered next to GOD in every human society and doctors are most trusted professionals to whom one hands his life without hesitation and with the utmost hope.But what if these doctors use to be in slumber while patients groan What if the most delicate work in hospital is handed over to Non Professionals?What if the patient who is critical and needs watchful attention and treatment by a doctor is handed over to one who is a student of any Nursing college that too of a bachelor course.That’s what is happening in District hospital kulgam as the doctors most of the times during odd hours use to be in their rooms gossiping while emergency ward is being handled by orderly of Hospital.The hospital is flooded by students of Nursing colleges who are there for internship as same being part of their curriculum but ironically the administration make full use of these students. These students are handed over the extremely critical jobs and they are being put to night duty as well, resulting in mishaps many a times. Recently one such incident came into news where a 35-year-old lady namely Sholey Jan Daughter of Mohd Yousuf Khanday resident of village supar visited the hospital for treatment and was advised to take oxygen therapy on low flow but because oxygen was set on very high flow by internee on duty which resulted in rupturing her lungs and ultimately young lady died before time because of negligence of doctors and administrators of District hospital Kulgam. There are hundreds of such instances where a patient’s life could be saved easily if treatment been done by a professional but negligence and arrogance of hospital administration prove things otherwise.Patients alleged that It’s completely illegal to post an internee on a sensitive job but CMO/MS KULGAM seems to be higher than laws and perhaps possess all the knowledge of world that’s why he is doing what he likes by giving a go by to all the rules and regulations.(CNS)
