Srinagar, Apr;An Army trooper has been killed in ongoing encounter at Watnar Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.Security forces launched a cordon and search operation after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of militants in Watnar area of Shopian, they said.During the operation, the hiding militants opened fire at the security forces and in the ensuing encounter, one army trooper of 19RR received serious bullet wound, the officials said.He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, however he succumbed to his injuries, the officer added.Meanwhile the exchange of firing between militants and security forces is underway.CNS)
