Kulgam,29-Mar; Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme was organized by Child Development Project Officer ICDS Project Qazigund, different perspective of the Scheme were discussed emphasis were given on the sex ratio, social and economical upliftment and empowerment of a girl child.Speaking on the occasion, CDPO Fareeda Akhter complimented the participants and said that effective implementation of BBBP for empowering the girls, has always remained the top most priority of district administration.She said that various initiatives have been taken by the government for educating and empowering a girl child besides terming them at par with boys in every respect.The CDPO highlighted the importance and significance of empowering women and girls. She said promoting gender equality is crucial in accelerating sustainable development.In the programme, girl students of several schools were participated, later all students and orphan children were facilitated by the CDPO Fareeda Akhter. Lectures were given by BMO Qazigund Zahoor Ahmad, Principal Girls Hr.Secondary school Qazigund Haseena Akhter supervisors, Anganwadi Workers and students about the importance and beauties of girl child.The programme was concluded by CDPO Fareeda Akhter with good wishes and thanks to the participants and management.(CNS)
