Srinagar, 13- Sep:- Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee, President Shah Fayaz expresses his serious concern over the decision of Jammu and Kashmir’s Govt. regarding disengagement of ICDS Helpers to Supervisors. In a statement to Shah Fayaz said that these frontline workers are those who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of nation and for welfare of common masses at zero ground level. These workers have proved their worth while delivering their best in the fields and now every one of us are fully aware that how changes have took place due to these frontline workers. They have given their sweat and blood to the department. Mostly they have given their ages to the department. Most of them are now overaged and cannot apply in any other department or even are not able to earn through manual labouring as the department has sucked their energy till date and now at the end they are being told to get themselves departed. Is this justice to these 918 Helpers?.“It is not the matter of only 918 helpers but it’s a concern of 918 families as most of these helpers are head of families, mother’s or even mother in laws. What impact could be on their families due to this decision? It is matter of consciousness and we all should think about it, Shah Fayaz added while expressing great concern”, statement reads.Shah told that they have few questions with request to the concerned authorities/ Govt especially Hon’ble LG and Hon’ble Chief Secretary that please look into this matter and asked why always low scale employees/workers of any department are being targeted like these 918 ICDS Helpers and what about those concerned officials, functionaries or officers who have engaged them and have sucked their blood till date by performing hard life treating services in the fields? Shouldn’t govt review and make enquires against those DDO’s or officers who have released their wages for years? Were where the govt or these officers at the time when these were fighting for lives in the fields?Shah extends JKECC full support to Miss Mehjabeena ji, President, Association of ICDS Helpers to Supervisors and Miss Abida War, President, J&K ICDS Supervisors and Workers Association for all their genuine demands. He furthure urges Govt to have a review of the said order to avoid any odds by these helpers or worker.“Government seems that these engagements are against law or rules then it should have a thorough probe against all those functionaries or officers who have engaged them and have given life consuming false hope to thousands of souls”, he added.Pertinent to mention that earlier,Secretary Social Welfare Department, Ms Sheetal Nanda Ji, said that “there are no posts sanctioned, no budget and no funds for payment of remuneration to them.” The government had already written to Mission Directors regarding disengaging of the 918 helpers to supervisors.
