Jammu:On the martyrdom day of Amar Shaheed Lieutenant Thakur Das Ji, Sports Club Akhnoor organized a tribute programme in which Jugal Kishore Sharma Member of Parliament Lok Sabha Jammu Poonch present as the Chief Guest & Former MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma and DDC Member Veer Nari Sharda Bhau were present as Guest of Honour.Jugal Kishore Sharma Member of Parliament inaugurated Office Block of Sports Club Akhnoor and unveiled the statue of Amar Shaheed Lieutenant Thakur Dass Sharma installed in the Sports Club Premises along with dignitaries present at the occasion Member of Parliament paid tribute to Amar Shaheed Thakur Dass Sharma and said that Thakur Ji attained martyrdom on Ladakh Border in 1965 and the whole India would be indebted for his immortal sacrifice. Member of Parliament while appreciating Sports Club Akhnoor said that it is our duty that we should remember the brave soldiers who sacrificed for our country and we should arrange these type of functions in their respect.He said that by installation of statue of Amar Shaheed Lieutenant Thakur Dass Sharma will always recall us about the immortal sacrifice of Shaheed Thakur Das Sharma. Rajeev Sharma Former Mla Akhnoor in his address said that in memory of Amar Shaheed Thakur Dass Sharma Ji Sports Club has decided to maintain office complex to promote sports activity in Akhnoor.The demand was raised by the club members for funds and today Hall has been completed.He said that Bharatiya Janata Party is working on agenda of development and ensure that this type of activities would always carried on.D.K Kapoor along with Members of Sports Club Akhnoor Col. Bana Ram,Capt. Jugal Gupta,S. K Sharma,MC Akhnoor Surinder Sharma,District President BJP Jagdish Bhagat,Capt Soba Ram,Bharat Bhushan Gupta,Dalbeer Pawar,Kuldeep Singh and others were also present at the occasion.
