Kulgam, 11-Nov; Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces that broke out yesterday in Chanser area of kulgam district in south Kashmir, police said.A police spokesman said that the gunfight broke out yesterday evening after the police and security forces launched a search operation in Chanser following inputs about the presence of militants there.While a militant was killed in the initial exchange of fire, another militant was killed today morning.”01 more unidentified terrorist killed (Total 02). #Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition recovered. A big success for us,” he said while quoting IGP Kashmir As per Police statement, the killed Militant Shiraz Ahmad @Shiraz Molvi was A++ categorized Miltant involved in 19 FIRs and Yawer Ahmad was C categorized Militant was involved in 03 FIRs. He was active since March 2021.“Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including AK-47 rifle,3 AK 47 magazines, Pistol and Ubgl rounds were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their complicity in other militant crimes”, statement read.Earlier, an official informed that a joint team of police, Army and CRPF, after receiving information about the presence of militants, launched a search operation in the area.He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.(CNS)
