Chanderkote Police arrested a man for murderous attack on cops and recovered 12 grams heroin and Rs 7.39 lakh cash from his possession.As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Chanderkote led by SHO Inspector Padam Dev Singh under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Pardeep Singh Sen and SP Ramban Mohita Shama laid a naka and signalled a Baleno car bearing registration number JK02CE-1860 plying from Kashmir towards Jammu to stop for checking.The driver of the said vehicle with criminal intention broke the naka point, hit and damage barriers and committed murderous assault on the police party. The vehicle was chased by the police party and stopped near Kunfer area of Chanderket after overtaking.The four persons travelling in the car including the driver came out with sharp edged weapons with common and criminal intention to commit murderous assault on the police party but the alert cops acted swiftly and arrested one of them identified as Mam Hussain, son of Dauwa of Laswara, Bishnah, District Jammu alongwith with one sharp edged weapon whereas three other persons by taking advantage of the darkness fled away from the spot.The apprehended accused disclosed the names of the driver and two others as Bashir Ahmed of Langotia, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu, Barkat Ali of Jodha, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu and Bagh Ali, son of Rehmu of Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu.During search of the vehicle, two more sharp edged weapons alongwith cash worth Rs 7.39 lakh were recovered. During initial questioning, police team recovered 12 grams heroin, which the arrested accused had thrown below a culvert at Kunfer.A case under FIR Number 79/2022 under Sections 307, 427 and 34 IPC, 4/25 Arms Act and 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Chanderkote and investigation set into motion.
