Mayor JMC, former Legislators, DDC member, delegations of OBC Mahasabha and J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan.Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC met the Lt Governor and briefed him about the arrangements underway to host 56th Junior National Artistic and 25th Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Jammu & Kashmir.The Mayor, who is the Chief Patron of the Organizing Committee was accompanied by Er. Kiran Wattal, President, J&K Gymnastic Association and Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Chairman, Organizing Committee.They informed that around 600 players, Coaches & Managers; about 100 technical officials and 60 representatives from Gymnastic Association from across the country will participate in the prestigious championships.The visiting representatives also expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor-led administration for developing state-of-the-art sports facilities in the UT.Earlier, Sh. Sukhnandan Choudhary, former Minister apprised the Lt Governor regarding various issues of public importance including strict implementation of financial code under Panchayati Raj Act; release of pending payments under MGNREGA; relief to farmers for crop damages etc.Similarly, Ch Vikram Randhawa, former MLC raised the issue with Lt Governor regarding replacing PRC by Domicile certificates as a requisite document for various administrative purposes. He also highlighted the issues of residents of Gandhi Nagar Housing Colony regarding demolition notice.Er. Aijaz Hussain, DDC Member from Khonmoh submitted a memorandum to the Lt Governor apprising him of the issues pertaining to regularization of paramedical staff working in GMCs & associated hospitals in Srinagar/Jammu; development of transit accommodation & other facilities at Bala Devi Mandir, Balhama; development of Guryul Ravines ‘Kashmir Triassic Fossil Park’ in Khonmoh, besides concerning issues of Stone quarries of Zewan Bala & Zewan Payeen.Meanwhile, S. Varinderjeet Singh, BJP Vice President Poonch also called on the Lt Governor and projected various public issues of the district pertaining to functioning of Mini Secretariat; promotion of religious tourism; establishment of Women Degree College; availability of specialist Doctors in District Hospital; functioning of Jammu University’s out campus; repairing of Betar nallah bridge, besides issues of PoJK refugees.A delegation of OBC Mahasabha headed by its Chairperson, Sh. Kasturi Lal Basotra comprising of Sh. Bansi Lal Chodhary, Convener, OBC Mahasabha and Sh.
