Jammu, , 17-Nov; Peoples’ Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday protested against the central government of “killing innocents in the name of militancy” and demanded the return of bodies to their families Mehbooba Mufti while leading the protest in Jammu demanded a judicial inquiry into the Hyderpora encounter said that Kashmiris have neither surrendered in past nor they will surrender now on gunpoint.“We want a judicial inquiry into this incident. Strict punishment should be given to the guilty. It is unfortunate that three civilians were killed in the encounter. It has become a fashion to brand civilians killed in encounters as Over Ground Workers (OGWs). They have no proof to show that they were OGWs. Such incidents cause more anger among people against us,” Mufti said on Tuesday. The government refuses to hand over slain dead bodies to the families despite the latter are demand.“I am protesting because this government kills civilians in the name of militancy. Nobody knows if militants are being killed,3 civilians have been killed and their families are being devoid of the right of performing their burial’’, the former chief minister claimed.(CNS)
