Srinagar, 08-Sep; The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President, Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Wednesday led party functionaries in offering floral tributes and Fateha at the grave of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah on his 39th death anniversary at NaseemBagh Hazratbal.Speaking at an event honouring Sheikh Abdullah on his death anniversary, Abdullah said that his party will not shy away from participating in the Assembly polls but Centre must first restore statehood before announcing. About Taliban’s takeover, he urged the Taliban to maintain good relations with other nations.”Afghanistan is a different country. Those who have come to power there must handle the nation. I hope that they do justice to all and run a good government. I hope that they keep human rights in mind and will rule as per Islamic principles. They (Taliban) should maintain good relations with other nations,” said Farooq Abdullah.(CNS)
