Baramulla, 06-Apr: Residents of Chaki Jamal Mir area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday protested against the District administration Baramulla including the Jal Shakti Department as the area continued to battle an acute drinking water shortage from past two years.As per reports , scores of people mostly women staged a protest against the Jal Shakti department Including AEE PHE Pattan for failing to provide regular water supply to the area.The protesting women demanded immediate restoration of water supply.“Even as the matter was brought into the notice of the concerned authorities through representations and protest demonstrations, no action was taken till date,” they said.They appealed to higher authorities to intervene in the matter and ensure drinking water supply to the residents amid rise in temperature.(CNS
