Baramulla ,17- Mar : Non availability of Soil has been Forcing general public to Purchase the Soil illegally from Broker’s during late hours in Baramulla..Meanwhile Locals of Pattan town in District Baramulla have requested District and Divisional administration to make soil legally available for General Public.According to Current News Service General Public Particularly Poor People in Sub Division Pattan of District Baramulla are Continuously Suffering due to non availability of Soil for Construction purposes due to which they are forced to fill their Plinths (Beds) With Stones instead of Soil.Sources told that SDM Pattan has issued number of Orders to impose Ban on illegal Extraction of Soil but till date no order has been implemented nor any step has been taken for availability of Soil Legally. Locals while seeking Intervention of Divisional and District administration alleged that Sub Divisional administration Pattan has failed to make Soil Legally available for general public as they are badly suffering for a single tractor of Soil for Construction of purposes and filling of Plinth and other legal Purposes. They further added that general public is forced to get the soil through illegal ways by paying handsome amount to Broker’s.Meanwhile Tehsildar Pattan/ Singpora Saqib Murtaza (KAS) while speaking to advised concerned public to follow proper codal procedure for obtaining the legal permission for extraction of soil for their developmental activities.“’People are being advised not to do soil extraction from shamilat or khascharaia land without obtaining proper permission as well as furnishing the requisite fee to District mineral officer”, he added.(CNS)
