PDD Shopian owes 20 lacs ad bills to newspapers

    Srinagar ,31-Mar; The PDD Shopian division has been evoking strong criticism from the media fraternity for delaying the clearance of pending bills with regard to various advertisements published in local and national dailies.The department is non-serious about local press of Kashmir. Despite govt departments across valley have liability of huge amount, PDD Shopian division is having liability of almost RS 20 lakhs. Thousands of people including youth, directly and indirectly associated with the Kashmir’s media industry and yet department is totally unmoved over the delay in releasing the due amount to the newspapers.”I can tell you with authority that some local newspapers are planning to wind out their ventures due to the non-seriousness of the department towards clearing advertisement bills,” one of the editor said.While speaking to executive engineer STD/KPDCL PDD ,Er. Mohd Rashid said that the requisition of bills has been forwarded to higher authorities for disposal and hopefully same will be get cleared within Ist week of April.(CNS)
