Srinagar 31Aug: Police in Bandipora have seized 05 vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nadihal Aragam area of Bandipora.In a statement to CNS,Officers from Police Station Aragam under the supervision of DySP PC Bandipora at a checkpoint established at Nadihal Aragam Bandipora intercepted 05 tractors loaded with illegally extracted sand and Bajri. All vehicles have been seized involved in extraction and transportation of minerals illegally.A case vides FIR No. 34/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Aragam and investigation has been initiated.Meanwhile, the Police has requested people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is a violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighborhood with the local police units.(CNS)
