In continuation to the Press Conferences held earlier in both Jammu & Srinagar , The Jammu Pharmaceutical Distributors Association today announced strong and effective measures to counter “Unethical & “Allurement Tactics ” adopted & unleashed by the Multi Brand Companies in a Noble Trade of Pharmaceuticals paving way for “Spurious & Sub Standard” medicines in the market.Addressing the media, Sh. Rakesh Gupta President JPDA spoke on the various measures being taken by his Association in the best interest of Health Care & Suffering Humanity. He said that Price War that has been started by Multi Brand Companies in Jammu Kashmir and at Pan India level has led to Unhealthy Unethical Allurement practices of offering huge Discounts in the trade of medicines. He further said that our Trade is governed by the Drug Price Control Order which clearly defines the profit margins at the Wholesale and Retail Level .Sh. Rakesh Gupta said that after complete silence & inaction on the part of The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority and The Competition Commission of India even after sensational disclosures made by our Association through Press Conferences in the recent past , we are forced to take strict and Stringent measures in the interest of Health Care.While appreciating the role of officials of The Drugs Controller office in the union territory of JK and the steps taken by them , he said that such positive measures maybe defeated if we do not co operate with the department. He said that its our moral duty to make sure with the best of our intelligence and ethical behaviour to thwart any attempts by anyone to push sub standard or spurious medicines in the market. Sh. Rakesh Gupta announced series of measures to be implemented at war footing that include: ¢To strictly implement the practise of importing medicines only though authorized channels of the Manufacturers.¢To discourage and non co operate with all those who have adopted Allurement tactics by displaying Discount offers.¢To extend total Non Co operation to anyone importing medicines from unauthorized channels to get heavy profit margins over and above what have been defined in the Drugs Price Control Order and being parted by the Pharma Manufacturers both at the Wholesale and Retail level. ¢To urge the Pharma Manufacturers to implement and by all means stop and discourage Inter and Intra Regions infiltration of Medicines through unauthorized Channels.¢To urge the Pharma Manufacturers to stop the practise of “Special discounted Rates” to one and all.
