Srinagar, Mar 04,: The Subcontractors, who have been subletted the work of much hyped Srinagar Ring Road Project by NKC Projects Limited Friday alleged that the said company is deliberately delaying the release of their payments.Pertinently, the Srinagar Ring Road project had been allotted to NKC Projects Limited and an agreement was signed by NHAI with the company on May 31, 2021.“Last year in November, I had started the work on portion of the project with 25-30 skilled and unskilled workers doing the job. But the said Company is not the releasing the payments of the contractors on time, which is forcing us to leave the project midway,” one of the contractors told.“As soon as we leave the work midway, the company sublets the work to another contractor,” he said. He alleged that these delay tactics are being played by the company deliberately in connivance with Engineers and concerned officials in order to keep the local contractors at bay. He appealed the LG administration to personally intervene into the matter and get their payments released for the work they have completed. Efforts to reach out to company officials didnt materialize.(CNS)
