Banihal, 31-Jan; National Conference leader and District President Ramban Sajjad Ahmed Shaheen has demanded a full-fledged critical care ambulance in Khari Tehsil for the transportation of patients from rural health care to central hospitals.Shaheen said that a large number of critically ill-patients after getting primary treatment at rural hospital are referred to central hospitals. But due to lack of full fledged Critical Care Ambulance and trained health personnel / technical assistance precious lives are lost during the transit of patients to the main hospitals.Shaheen said that Khari and it’s peripheral areas being remote with very hilly terrain and no proper roads sans basic healthcare facilities and an alarming increase in the rate of road traffic accidents has put lives of residents of the area in jeopardy as in case if emergency critical patients are either referred to Jammu or Srinagar for specialised medical treatment so there is an immediate need to provide such a method of medical transportation with life support facility to save precious lives.” he added.Shaheen further said that the inter-hospital transport is a black hole between referring and receiving centers. Appropriate and effective critical care ambulances can reduce morbidity and downstream in-patient cost, he added. Shaheen has urged upon the L/Governor led administration to sanction a Critical Care Ambulance for Khari tehsil without any further delay as the demand has been raised earlier also by the local DDCs, BDC and elected Sarpanches of the area to save the precious lives during the transportation of patients to city hospitals.(CNS)
