Srinagar, 29-Nov; The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Monday predicted light to moderate snowfall in Kashmir valley and rains in jammu region from December 5 to 7.A meteorological department official told that the probability of snowfall in Kashmir Valley is more than 75% adding that Jammu region is expected to receive rains.“A Western Disturbance is most likely to affect J&K during 5-7th Dec. Widespread light to Moderate snowfall/Rain in plains of Jammu is expected during above period”, he added.The official further added that Some places on higher reaches (above 2000m) may receive heavy snow( 1-2feet) whereas plains likely to receive 2-3inches of snow.Meanwhile due to snow & freezing temperatures temporary disruption of traffic over passes like Zojila, Sinthan Top, Razdan Top, Mugal may occur.(CNS)
