SRINAGAR: Chinar Corps Commander Lt General B S Raju and all ranks on Tuesday paid homage to Gunner Bhupender, who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on September 5 at the Line of Control (LoC), a Defence ministry spokesman said here. Gunner Bhupender and two other soldiers were injured, when Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire and resorted to indiscriminate and unprovoked shelling and firing in Naugam sector in the frontier district of Kupwara. The Gunner later died in 92 Base Hospital here. The Spokesman said that Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to Gunner Bhupender, the gallant warrior, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty at Naugam. They also expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
