Education Department, Ramban has intensified online classes amidst the second wave of Covid -19 through different digital platforms like Education Hub/ SARAL App / whatsapp media to facilitate the students of all Government Schools for continuing their studies.Pertinent to mention, the Department has started online classes on the directions of Director School Education, Jammu, for the students of class 1st to 12th after closure of school in wake of surge in Covid positive cases.Besides conducting regular online classes, other academic related interventions like home assignments, class tests and quiz competitions are also being held virtually to bridge the learning gap of students during off school/ pandemic time.As per the Chief Education Officer, Ramban, V K Koul about 14000 students are regularly attending classes through different digital means.More than 1300 students who are unable to attend online classes are being provided offline study material by their teachers and efforts are continuing to access the other left out students either digitally or through the supply of study material on a sharing basis.As many as 2045 teachers out of 2326 are being conducted online classes through different digital platforms in the district.He directed the ZEOs, Heads of all educational institutions, DNO, DRGs to ensure either online or offline study facility for each and every student of their institutions besides utilizing the services of all teaching staff to facilitate students in this pandemic time. They were also directed to adopt Covid appropriate behavour, besides sensitizing the students about the importance of implementations of Covid-19 SoPs. The Department in collaboration with UNICEF India also organized a counseling webinar on ‘Covid -19 Infection, Prevention and Control’ in which 300 students and teachers from different schools participated.The CEO sought cooperation from all stakeholders to make this initiative successful besides implementing all preventive measures to contain spread of Covid infection.
