12th August: A person namely, Showkat Ahmad S/O Ghulam Nabi today carried out a protest at Press Colony, Srinagar. Showkat Ahmad basically belongs to Abi Karpora Dal Lake but presently living at a rental house at Buchwara.He said, “my house was fully damaged in the 2014 floods. After that I submitted the legal documents for the rehabilitation at the water and lake department. Till date nothing has been done in the matter by the flood department”.“My source of income is not so good. I have to fulfill my family responsibilities and also to pay the rent for the house. Justice has been delayed by the department. He appealed to the authorities to either give justice to him or kill him as the conditions are worsening day by day for him and his family. I appeal to the officials to look into the matter and rehabilitate me and my family as soon as possible, he added”.(CNS)
