JAMMU: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan, Rajesh Kumar Baru, Tehsildar Jammu West has retrieved 44 Kanals of State land worth more than Rs 5 crore in a prime location in village Khanpur.Acting on a complaint mentioning that one Bagh Hussain, son of Nawab Din and others have illegally encroached upon State land bearing Khasra Number 464 in village Khanpur, Tehsildar Jammu West directed field staff to submit a factual report after visiting the spot and examining the relevant revenue record.In exercise of powers vested in him under Section 133 of Land Revenue Act and based on the recommendations of the field staff and after providing due opportunity of being heard to illegal occupants within the provisions of the Land Revenue Act, Tehsildar issued order for eviction of encroachers from State land measuring 44 kanals in village Khanpur and retrieved the same by demolishing all structures raised over it.The demolition drive was carried out by Rajesh Baru, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar Gole Vijay Kumar, GQ Kewal Kumar, Varinder Mohan and In charge Police Post SI Rohit Bhagat and ASI Jai Singh under the overall supervision of Vijay Sharma, ACR Jammu.Tehsildar West has further instructed field staff to remain vigilant and act tough against all illegal encroachers in their respective areas.It is pertinent to mention here that Deputy Commissioner Jammu has categorically directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Tehsildars during revenue officers meetings to make lists of all such illegal encroachers who have encroached upon State, Kahcharai & Common Land and evict them after following due procedure and laws.Rajesh Baru, Tehsildar Jammu West has already retrieved 39 kanals prime State land worth Rs 23 crore in village Gole.
