Doda,01-Nov;Fourth Narco Coordination Committee meeting was held in the last evening at DC office Doda under the Chairmanship of District Magistrate Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan to take stock of the efforts made by the designated members against the drug abuse in the district. SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom being convener of the committee presented the latest development and activities taken up in the district by various intending department. He informed the committee that the Substances Act and 34 drug Peddlers have been booked under Preventive detention, moreover 3 persons have been booked under PSA in the district, besides seizure of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic SubstancesThe DM directed the Forest, Agriculture and other concerned departments that besides, destruction of Bhang plant, come up with the proposal to plant some useful plants which can replace the wild cannabis (Bhang) in the district. The police and sub divisional administration was directed to carry out joint destruction exercise by including PRIs and other stakeholders.The DC directed the education, health and police department to conduct awareness/ health check up of students in all Degree Colleges, Higher Secondary’s and High Schools under the direct supervision of SDMs and Tehsildars of the area. He instructed to complete the exercise by the end of November this year.Seeking strict enforcement of drug control rules, he asked the ADCs, SDMs and Tehsildars to ensure mandatory maintaining of record of sale of psychotropic drugs and installation of CCTVs by the medical stores.The meeting was attended by, ADC Doda Dr R K Bharti, ACR Doda Ashfaq Khanji, SDM Assar Lekh Raj, SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar, DIO Doda and Drugs Inspector Manesh Gupta. The meeting was also attended virtually by SSP ANTF, Superintendent NCB Jammu, ADC Bhaderwah, SDM Gandoh, DFO Bhaderwah, DFO Batote,Divisional Officer PCC, and other concerned officers
