78 militants killed so far this year in Valley, 39 Belonged to LeT: IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar

Srinagar , July 16: Two local militants of least known militant outfit ISJK were killed, while two paramilitary officials of Central Reserve Police Force were also injured in an encounter at Alamdar Colony, Danmar area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar on Friday.Sources told that during the gunfight two CRPF personnel were also injured, identified as SI Bupinder Sharma (25) of 21 BN and constable Unish Ahmad Dar (35) of 73 BN. Both were shifted to 92 base hospital for treatment, where their condition is said to be stable.Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar while divulging the details to that so far seventy eight militants have been killed this year in Valley.He added that out of seventy eight militants, thirty nine of them belonged to LeT while as rest belonged to Hizb, Al-Badr, JeM and AuGH.It is pertinent to mention that in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district eight militants were killed during the last two weeks. Amid Burglary worth Lakhs from Mobile Shops, Kupwara Police Registers CaseKupwara , July 16: The North Kashmir’s Kupwara police on Friday registered a case after burglars allegedly looted cell-phones and accessories worth lakhs of rupees from a mobile shop in Kralpora area of the district. Sources told Current News Service that one Gowhar Ahmed Tanzoo, a resident of Kralpora Kupwara, who runs a shop namely ‘Gowhar Electronics’ said that burglars looted mobile phones from his shop worth Rs 7 to 8 lakhs during the intervening night of Thursday-Friday and added that Kralpora police station registered a case in this regard.Meanwhile police took cognizance of the complaint, registered a case and started the investigation.

Traders Union Kupwara has expressed resentment over the frequent incidents of burglary and stressed to arrest the culprits on immediate basis.
