Advisor Bhatnagar reviews progress of works on major PMDP projects of H&MESRINAGAR, JUNE 24: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, today chaired a high level meeting at Civil Secretariat here to review the progress on major projects of Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department being executed in Jammu and Kashmir under PMDP schemes including AIIMS Jammu and AIIMS Kashmir.The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, H&ME, Atal Dulloo; Chairman cum Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation (JKPHC), Abdul Gani Mir; Principal GMC Srinagar, Principal GMC Jammu, Director Health Services, Jammu, Director Health Services Kashmir, MD Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB), Chief Engineer R&B Jammu, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Chief Engineer, JKPCC, representatives of CPWD, Principals of GMCs Anantnag, Baramulla, Kathua, Doda, Rajouri and other concerned officials of health department in person and through video conferencing.The meeting had elaborate discussions on present status of various works being executed under all major projects undertaken by different executing agencies besides any impediments faced.Advisor Bhatnagar also reviewed the status of procurement of medical equipments and furniture for the newly established Medical Colleges of Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Kathua and Rajouri .While reviewing the progress of works on AIIMS Kashmir, the Advisor was informed that the boundary wall with length of 5200 metres has been completed while as the works on main building are going on smoothly.Similarly, reviewing the status of AIIMS Jammu, the Advisor was informed that the boundary wall has been completed while as more than 25 percent progress has been achieved on main building.Advisor Bhatnagar directed the officials of CPWD to expedite the pace of work so that these prestigious projects can be completed within the fixed timelines and dedicated to the public at the earliest. He maintained that these reputable projects will revolutionise the health scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.Likewise reviewing the status of works executed by JKPCC like GMC Anantnag and Baramulla, District Hospital Reasi, SDH PakherporaBudgam, 100 bedded additional block at DH Kishtwar, DH Ganderbal and other projects, the Advisor was informed that work on these projected is going on in full pace and will be completed within the given timelines.Taking note of lackadaisical approach in meeting deadlines, the Advisor asked the officers to stick on given timelines otherwise strict action will be taken against those who fail to meet these deadlines.Reviewing the progress of projects undertaken by JKHB like 100 Bedded MCH at Kangan, Ganderbal, Sub District Hospital Akhnoor, 100-bedded hospital at SDH Gandoh, Doda, Additional block at JLNM Hospital Srinagar and other projects, the Advisor was apprised about the present status of these projects.Likewise, Advisor Bhatnagar took detailed review of projects undertaken by R&B like GMC Rajouri, Doda and Kathua, New Medical Colleges at Udhampur and Handwara and projects executed by JKPHC like Construction of Nursing College at Sopore, Construction of 100 bedded new emergency block at GMC Jammu, Construction of IPD Block at SDH Bijbehara, Construction of Nursing College Kishtwar and other similar projects.Addressing the officers, the Advisor stressed upon them to gear up their men and machinery so that the progress on works can be speeded up and desired results are achieved on ground. He asked them to speed up the works and focus on removing all the bottlenecks that are hindering the pace of works. He also directed the head of executing agencies to personally visit the sites of projects for effective monitoring.Advisor Bhatnagar asked the concerned officers to submit the progress report regarding the status of works done on all the projects on regular basis so that all these projects can be completed in time.Speaking on the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, H&ME, Atal Dulloo directed the officers of executing agencies to complete all the projects within given time frame so that they can be dedicated for public use at the earliest in these critical times of pandemic Covid-19.
