Budgam , July 10: After spotted by the locals, Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday defused a live mortar shell in Habber Lassipora forest area of Khag in Central Kashmir’s Budgam districtSources privy to said that a live mortar shell was seen by locals and they immediately informed the police.“The police team rushed to the spot and the area was sealed and BDS defused the shell later on” he added.As per police statement a bomb disposal squad (BDS) of Budgam Police was immediately called and the shell was defused adding that nobody was injured in the incident.“Being in proximity with Tosamaidan forests, rains have swept the older shell to this place” a senior police official said.
It is pertinent to mention that Tosamaidan meadow used to be an artillery range for Indian forces.
