ANTF, J&K Police Holds Drug Awareness Rally in Srinagar

Srinagar 26 June (CNS): On the International Day Against Drug Abuse, Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF), J&K Police, conducted a drug awareness rally in Srinagar and requested people to come forward if they knew anyone in their localities selling drugs.As per the news agency CNS, an officer from ANTF, J&K Police said the purpose of conducting the rally was to spread awareness among the public that they should keep themselves away from drugs. “Especially the parents of teenagers are being appealed that they should inform their children (about the drugs) so that they would remain at bay from its menace,” he said.He also requested the public at large that they should inform their department upon finding anyone in their localities selling drugs. “We would ensure action against such persons (who are involved in selling of drugs) so that they could be placed behind the bars,” he added.Regarding the reclaiming lives of ones addicted to drugs, he said that their department, after sharing information with them, would admit the addicted persons in the drug de-addiction centers where the doctors would treat them so that they could recover again and live their lives normally.On one of the questions from reporters regarding “narco-terrorism”, he said that there are specialized agencies who deal with such cases.
