Posing a new challenge before security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, Director-general of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said that China-made drones are being used to drop weapons for the use of militant groups in the Union Territory.“Dropping weapons by drones is a new strategy by Pakistan and we have taken strict measures to counter this. We have seen a lot of consignments of weapons being dropped like AK47, MO4, pistols and grenades and we have busted all these attempts,” Dilbag Singh. In the past few months, security forces had recovered a huge cache of weapons at various sites near borders, which they believe were dropped using specialised drones. Drugs were also dropped with the help of these drones in the border areas.“There is a carbine which we have recovered and it is made by China. Chinese star pistols have been with militants for quite some time,” said Dilbag Singh. Some Type 97 NSR rifles, manufactured by a Chinese company, Norinco, were also recovered in the valley. This weapon is predominantly used by Chinese soldiers and are also been found in Pakistani.Security forces said that they have increased the vigil across the LoC and borders with Pakistan to keep a check on these developments.
