Commissioner Secretary to Govt., Higher Education Department, Janab Talat Parvez Rohella visited Govt. Degree College Billawar on 4/11/2020. and welcomed by Principal of college,Prof.Sunil Uppal and other staff members by presenting a bouquet as a token of love and respect.
The NCC cadets of College presented guard of honour to Worthy Commissioner Secretary ,Higher Education Department.
Sir, inspected the college campus, and other departments and was apprised about details of teaching,non teaching and LFE employees and students enrollement in different streams and respective semesters.
He was also apprised about different activities being performed by different college committees.
An interactive session was held with all the teaching and non- teaching staff members ,Physical Director and Librarian of college.
He was also apprised about the total number of books ,availability of online periodical and E-journals available in the college library.
Worthy Commissioner Sec sahib was also told and practically visualised the different SWAYAM portal channels ,an initiative of MHRD,Government of India.
Later on ,Commissioner Secretary also inaugurated e content room ,recently created for making and use of e -content both by faculty members and students.
He also inaugurated e digital library and practically checked its various components like NDL ,NLIST,COVID-19,E-ADHYAN,SWAYAM ,E-PG PATHSHALA,SHODH GANGA,MANODARPAN and availability of best possible newspapers and books for different competitive exams.and various links for early accessiblity and information for awareness and educational purposes like HED,JU,SMVDU,CENTRAL UNIVERSITY and COEJU.
He was also apprised that all the faculty members and students enrolled in this session are registered in N LIST and process of making awareness among students to use ,familiar and get benefitted by E -library and N LIST like platform etc.is going on and shall be completed shortly.
Commissioner Sec sahib during his inspirational wonderful lecture to staff ,advised and directed to uplift further making and use of E- Content by the faculty members for online classes using best possible apps,use of interactive boards, making industrial students attractive projects , proposal of fully AC exam centre/ digitilised e -learning centre where both faculty and students can be maximum benefitted.
He was also apprised of outstanding achievements and activities of college in NCC ,NSS ,Cultural and Sports.and concerned faculty members were advised to enroll all students in best possible activities.
He stressed upon the faculty members to get acquainted themselves with modern tools of ICT technology and upgrade themselves with technological advancement with integration of new education policy parameters with stress on digital learning ,creative thinking and employment friendly curriculum and also advised to startup new initiatives in skill courses …industrial/professional/vocational.
Commissioner Sec sahib also honoured meritorious students of college in NCC and Sports activities.
Sir,highly appreciated and applauded the role of college administration in maintaining high cleanliness ,involvement in very important activities and taking initiatives especially in :
1.SWAYAM online channels for faculty and students.(vision of ministry of MHRD)
2.creation of e content room and preparation of e content and recorded lectures for students and faculty members
3.100% enrolment of all faculty members and students on N-LIST
4.Availability of all possible online books/journals/newspapers/e content /NDL/NLIST /SWAYAM and all related study material for faculty and students.
5.making community/locality friendly project as a start up in Mobile and PC (all types) repairing for starting small scale business in nearby areas.
Prof.Sunil Uppal,Principal of the college updated various initiatives and activities being performed by different committees of college and in his concluding remarks ,thanked Worthy Commissioner Sec HED for sparing his valuable time to visit the college for such a wonderful tour and guided /motivated staff members for timely needed awareness.
