RAMBAN, MARCH 28: Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam chaired a meeting of the District TB Forum under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme in his office chamber.The Deputy Commissioner asked the health department to issue an advisory asking private medical practitioners to send suspected TB cases for examination in the District TB Cell so that their testing is done to check TB. Directions were also issued to all BMOs in the district to ensure that TB control guidelines are followed in letter and spirit for complete TB elimination.The Deputy Commissioner directed the health department to conduct an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign through the panchayats by involving the PRI members. He also asked for conducting camps in educational institutions and Gram Sabhas.Deputy CMO, Dr Suresh Kumar also gave a detailed presentation on the existing number of TB patients and measures being taken to bring down the incidence of TB in the district. He asked for adopting an effective Active Case Finding approach to identify hotspots of Tuberculosis in the district and to ensure that all TB patients are supported through Nikshay Mitras.Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Sharma; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Ashok Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Kamal Zadu and other officers and members attended the meeting.
