DLSA Srinagar Celebrated Work Water Day.

Srinagar 24th March: District Legal Services Authority Srinagar today celebrated the World Water Day at ADR Centre, District Court Complex Srinagar under the guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Mr. Jawad Ahmad. The programme was attended by the PLVs, Panel Lawyers & Staff of DLSA Srinagar.The Programme was inaugurated by Noor Mohammad Mir Secretary (Sub-Judge) DLSA Srinagar by stressing on the theme of World Water Day 2022 i.e. “Ground Water, making the invisible visible” and “pledged along with the participants to collectively stop the overuse, exploitation and wastage of every single drop of water.” With the modernization of agriculture, rising population and growing industrialization, water demand has been pushed up rapidly and many of our rivers have become toxic with pollutants and toxic chemicals from industries, it is high time that appropriate measures be taken for the Sustainable Future.Speaking on this Occasion Panel Lawyer DLSA Sgr Bisma Khan said that Water conservation allows regions and cities to plan the use of water resources more efficiently in the future. If the majority of the plant runs out of water due to wastage, there will be a scarcity of water. The future generation will have to come up with ways to produce fresh, clean water at a greater cost. Panel Lawyer DLSA Sgr Suhaila Ali also highlighted the importance of Conservation of water and said that the Conservation of water resources might be a Global Problem but the solution lies in each individual of this Planet. PLV Mohsin, Sana Mushtaq, Bilqiues Tantray & Nusrat also spoke on the Occasion.It is pertinent to mention here that World Water Day is celebrated each year on 22nd March focusing attention on the importance of water. It marks one of the most important days in March for the entire world as it raises awareness of freshwater shortage as a world crisis. It was recommended to be celebrated in 1992 at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janerio. And then, in 1993 the first World Water Day was celebrated.(CNS)
