Maharashtra: Dr. Sheetal Amte, Chief Executive Officer of Maharogi Seva Samiti has committed suicide at her residence in Warora, Chandrapur. Dr. Sheetal Amte-Karjagi committed suicide by a poisonous injection. Medical officials declared her dead after she was taken to Warora Sub-District Hospital for treatment. Dr. Sheetal, Granddaughter of senior social worker Late Baba Amte, was at the helm of affairs of Maharogi Seva Samiti at Anandvan which is involved in rehabilitation and treatment of Leprosy patients. Dr. Sheetal leaves behind husband Gautam Karjagi, 5 year old son Sharvil and a host of family members. Reason of suicide is not yet known.
