27-Dec: A driver died after a vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Ramban district on Tuesday morning.An official said that an oil tanker bearing registration number JK01AJ 9101 fell into a deep gorge after the driver purportedly lost control over the vehicle near Kalamorh area of Ramban, resulting in his on spot death.A rescue operation was launched by J&K Police, Civil QRT Ramban, SDRF and Army at the site”, official said.The driver was identified as Sameer Ahmed Rather son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Hariparigam Tral.Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the concerned police station and investigations set into motion.
