First time in 8 months, COVID cases slump below 100 as 79 test +ve, 3 died

Jammu: It is for the first time in eight months, the day COVID positive cases have been reported below 100 with 79 tested positive and three persons have died across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday informed that 79 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (30 from Jammu division and 49 from Kashmir division), have been reported, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 122964.Also three COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Kashmir Division.Moreover, 237 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 125 from Jammu Division and 112 from Kashmir Division.According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 122964 positive cases, 1468 are Active Positive, 119581 have recovered and 1915 have died; 712 in Jammu division and 1203 in Kashmir division.The Bulletin further said that out of 4188783 test results available, 4065819 samples have been tested as negative till January 14.Till date 985055 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 32662 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1468 in isolation and 43921 in home surveillance.Besides, 905089 persons have completed their surveillance period.
