Jammu, 25-May,: Four Members of a Bakerwal were killed after a tree fell on their makeshift tent in Bahlna forests in Kishtwar district last night on Thursday.Officials said that the tree fell amid gusty winds and heavy rainfall in Bhalna area of Keshwan forest about 50 km from Kishtwar town around midnight. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Khalil Ahmad Poswal confirmed that the tree fall claimed the lives of four family members.The deceased were identified as Nazir Ahmed (55), his wife Anwar Begum (42), Shama Begum(26) wife of Shoket Ahmed and Shakeel Banoo (17), all residents of district Kathua. The Bakerwal family on seasonal migration was moving towards the Dachan area along with their sheep and goats and due to rain they halted their onward journey and erected their tent at Bhalna forest. Meanwhile, the incident has sent shockwaves through the close-knit community, as they mourn the untimely loss of their loved ones.
